Hearing Aid Fitting in Swansea — The Heareka™ Process
A hearing aid that gets worn is a hearing aid that was fitted properly. The work is in the fitting process, not the device.
Heareka™ compresses what most fittings spread across weeks of return-visit tuning into a single fitting appointment. The structured fine-tuning happens in the chair on day one — then four to five years of open-access aftercare keep it that way.

The BestHear Fitting Journey
Heareka™ delivers in one fitting appointment the result that other clinics chase across weeks of return visits. The structured fine-tuning is done in the chair, in real time, against simulated real-world environments — not deferred to follow-up.
- Initial assessment plus Heareka™ demo — one combined appointment. Full diagnostic audiometry, otoscopy, and tympanometry. Immediately after, the Heareka™ tuning protocol is applied to a trial pair. Background noise is simulated in the room so the patient hears, on the spot, what real-world Heareka™ performance sounds like. The “Heareka™ moment” is powerful and discernible — most patients know there and then whether this is the right choice.
- Hearing aid selection. If the patient wants to proceed, devices are chosen together against the patient’s own preferences for Comfort, Appearance, and Ease of Use. The Sound has already been demonstrated.
- Fitting appointment. When the ordered hearing aids arrive, the Heareka™ tuning is repeated on the patient’s own devices, Real Ear Measurement is performed against prescriptive targets, and full instructions are given on insertion, removal, charging, app pairing, and daily care.
- One follow-up appointment. Scheduled to iron out the creases — small adjustments informed by the first weeks of real-world wear.
- Four to five years of open-access aftercare. The patient can arrange as many additional appointments as they need, included in the fitting plan. An annual check is recommended at minimum to keep the setup optimal.
What “Success” Looks Like
BestHear measures the success of a fitting by two simple metrics:
- The wearer forgets they are wearing the hearing aids.
- The people around the wearer are not reminded the wearer needs help with their hearing.
The first half is comfort, sound, and how the device sits in the ear. The second half is the fine-tuning work — own-voice management, whistling control, automatic environment switching, freedom from constant manual adjustment.
This is the lens behind CASE — Comfort, Appearance, Sound, Ease of Use — the four-part framework Heareka™ fittings are checked against.
It is also why BestHear errs toward less, not more. Modern hearing aids are technically capable of dozens of options. The wearer should not have to think about most of them. Automatic settings do their job in the background. The device gets put on in the morning and forgotten about. That is the goal.
