Expert Hearing Care. Clear, Upfront Prices.
Choosing hearing care shouldn’t mean guessing what it will cost. Every BestHear service is listed below with a clear price — diagnostic hearing tests, microsuction earwax removal, tinnitus consultations, and full paediatric audiology, for adults and children alike.
You’ll be seen by a clinician registered with both the HCPC and AHCS, in unhurried appointments at our Swansea and Pontyclun clinics. Find the service you need, book in a few clicks, and take the first step to hearing clearly.

Adult Services
Adult Hearing Test & Report — £150
A full diagnostic assessment, not a screening. Otoscopic examination, pure-tone audiometry across the speech-frequency range and beyond, speech-in-noise testing where indicated, tympanometry, and a written report you can take to your GP. Results explained in plain language so you understand what the audiogram actually means for your daily life. Read more or book directly.
Adult Earwax Removal (Microsuction) — £60
Endoscopic microsuction performed under direct visualisation — every step shown on screen so you can see exactly what is being removed. No water, no syringing, no oil-softening required for most cases. Single-session resolution for the majority of presentations. Read more or book directly.
Tinnitus Consultation — £150
Tinnitus is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The first job is to characterise it — pitch, mechanism, contributing factors — and then build a management plan around what is actually driving it. Sound therapy, lifestyle audit, and onward referral where indicated. Read more.
Same-Day Adult Appointments — Where Capacity Allows
A small daily reserve is held for urgent presentations: sudden blockage, post-syringing fullness, sudden hearing change, severe tinnitus onset. Phone triage decides whether same-day BestHear is the right route, or whether NHS 111 should be the first call. Read more.
Children’s Services
BestHear’s lead clinician trained extensively in paediatric audiology in tertiary NHS settings and continues to take on referrals where general adult clinics will not. Children are not small adults — the testing protocols, the language used, the parent involvement, and the clinical thresholds all differ. Mr Ali has close to two decades of clinical experience across the NHS and internationally, with extensive paediatric audiology training and ongoing scope of practice.
Children’s Hearing Test & Report — £150
Age-appropriate testing from infancy through adolescence: visual reinforcement audiometry, play audiometry, conditioned-response testing, and full diagnostic audiometry for older children. Tympanometry included as standard. Written report suitable for school, ENT referral, or onward NHS routing. Read more or book directly.
Children’s Earwax Removal (Endoscopic Microsuction) — £120
From age three and above using endoscopic microsuction technique. Many practices will not see paediatric earwax cases at all; BestHear takes them with proper time per appointment, age-appropriate explanation, and a parent in the room. Read more or book directly.

“After months going back and forth to the doctor’s with crackling, dizziness and pressure, one appointment sorted it. Everything was shown to me on screen, my hearing was tested thoroughly, and I left understanding exactly what was going on. The best thing I could have done for my ears.”

Why BestHear Is Different
Most hearing care providers do the same things. The difference is how they are done.
Assessment, not a screening. A BestHear hearing test is a full diagnostic assessment with a written report you can take to your GP — not the ten-minute check you get at a high-street counter. The difference is what gets done with it.
Time, not turnover. A diagnostic appointment runs an hour. Earwax removal takes as long as it takes. Nothing is processed; everything is consulted.
Dual registration. BestHear’s lead clinician is registered with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist and the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) as a Hearing Aid Dispenser. Most private dispensers hold one registration; NHS-pathway clinical scientists rarely move into private practice. The combination is uncommon and meaningful.
Answers you can understand. Every result is explained in plain language — what the finding means for your daily life, and exactly what the next step is, if any. You leave knowing where you stand, not holding a chart you can’t read.
