Armaj’s dedication to his craft led him to a unique opportunity – joining the first-ever newborn hearing screening program in Cork City, Ireland. Here, he encountered a diverse range of patients, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This experience not only expanded his knowledge but also sparked a passion for developing strategies to address specific needs.

Never content with the status quo, Armaj furthered his education with a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Audiology. His dissertation project led to the creation of the “Hearing Test Story” – an innovative tool designed to test children with ASD. This pioneering work cemented his reputation as a skilled pediatric audiologist.

From London to Medina: Building Expertise and Encountering a Challenge

Armaj’s dedication to his craft led him to diverse roles across London’s NHS hospitals, where he worked with both adult and pediatric patients. He even honed his skills with the prestigious Cochlear Implant Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 2015, he embarked on a new adventure – establishing comprehensive audiology services for a newly built National Guard hospital in Medina.

While setting up the hearing aid service, Armaj faced a critical obstacle – the hospital lacked a Real Ear Measurement (REM) machine, an essential tool for calibrating digital hearing aids. Refusing to let this limitation hinder his patients, Armaj devised a unique solution.

He developed a system based on meticulous subjective sound checks, relying on patient feedback to optimize hearing aid performance. Despite initial concerns about accuracy without an REM, Armaj observed consistently positive outcomes.

A Return Home and the HEAREKA Moment

His family beckoned Armaj back to the UK in 2019. Now with access to an REM machine again, he combined his subjective method with the scientific precision of REM data. The results were astonishing. My mum had a digital hearing aid a few months ago from Armaj. He was so professional, patient and courteous in dealing with my elderly mum. She loved him. The hearing aid has been amazing and has completely transformed her life. She should have had it years ago. I would highly recommend Armaj and the BestHear Clinic.

14/11/24 — I had a fantastic experience at BestHear and would highly recommend to anyone having issues with their ears. Originally I went in for a tympanometry test as I was having crackling sounds/dizziness and pressure, however Dr Armaj Ali explained what he could see and decided ear wax removal was the better option. This process was relatively straightforward and I was shown what the issue was and the affects that it could cause. He then tested my hearing and was very thorough throughout the appointment ensuring I understood what was happening and why. After having issues for months, going back and forth to the Doctor’s and never getting any answers, this was the best thing I could have done for my ears and ear health. Dr Armaj Ali also recommended a spray for my ears to prevent the return of an infection and has said I can come back in a week to make sure things are good. Fantastic experience! Thank you :)21/11/24 — editing my review to add that I went back to BestHear today and had another fantastic experience. Dr Armaj Ali took another look at my ears and removed the remainder of the ear wax that was causing issues which has relieved the problems I had and has also helped with the stress and anxiety I felt regarding my ear health. He also conducted two types of hearing tests to ensure my hearing was as it should be and recommended what I can do moving forward to improve any dryness in my ears and to prevent the same thing happening again. I left feeling physically and mentally better and am really happy with the results! Dr Armaj Ali also did this free of charge for me following the previous appointment!Overall, an excellent service, friendly staff that go above and beyond for you, a lovely atmosphere and brilliant results! A year ago I needed an urgent Earwax Removal appointment for my 95 year old Mum. Mr Armaj Ali fitted my Mum in that same day and since then she hasn't looked back. My Mum has asked me to post this review. With her current hearing aid not coming up to scratch, she returned to BestHear in July this year and is now the proud owner of Heareka Hearing Aids, which have transformed her hearing. Mum opted for the button type hearing aids which, at 95 years of age, were easier for her to handle. Armaj was very patient and clear when explaining their use, and over the following month made sure that Mum was happy and confident using them - which she is. He was always at the end of the phone if we needed advice, so aftercare support is excellent. We are all looking forward to Christmas this year with our Mum, who will now be able to join in our conversations. I can't speak highly enough of Armaj and BestHear, and as someone who doesn't normally write reviews, I am more than happy to do so on this occasion. The clinic is in an easily accessible location, with car parking outside the door - a bonus.

I've given my experience 5 stars out of 5 because Armaj was very professional and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole procedure of ear wax removal. One of my ears wasn't a straight forward procedure, as 2 failed operations on a perforated ear drum when I was younger meant I am unable to put any liquid in that ear. His explained what he was doing every step of the way. If anybody is thinking of having ear wax removal I would definitely recommend seeing Armaj Ali at the Parkway Clinic.

I went to BestHear in Swansea for ear wax removal, as they were able to fit me in the same day and, honestly, the service I received was exceptional. I was given a whole hour of treatment, including wax removal from both ears, plus hearing test on both ears, detailed explanations of everything that was happening, a large screen in front of me showed me everything the audiologist (Armaj) could see and results were shown to me on computer, with detailed explanations and related information given, including photographs of my results. Armaj was so thorough, put me absolutely at ease throughout, was extremely kind, patient, professional and conscientious, ensuring my comfort throughout and going to great effort to explain everything to me, plus recommending next steps for my ear health and hearing improvement.I can’t recommend the service at BestHear highly enough; the most thorough clinical appointment I have ever received for any medical condition in my entire life!If all medical care was this good, the nation would be in better health! 👏

Had my first ever wax removal with Armaj and can't believe the difference it's made. Booking was easy and had an appointment the next day at a suitable time. Very professional but also put you at ease and explained everything in detail that needed explaining. Also had a hearing test and again explained everything in detail and made it easy to understand. I attended the clinic today with my ten year old daughter and saw Mr Ali which I can not thank enough his understanding and patience with my daughter was amazing he answered all my questions and concerns,he was amazing with my ten year old daughter and put her at ease when removing a foreign body from her ear,he explained everything in detail and put me at ease,I would recommend anyone with concerns with their children for hearing to him I can’t thank him enough.

I had my first appointment with Armaj Ali at the Best Hear clinic in Swansea & was very satisfied with the consultation, treatment & advice to help improve my hearing. He really took his time & explained everything clearly & in a way that gave me confidence in his knowledge. His manner throughout the hour long appointment was patient, kind, courteous & professional. I feel that it was very good value for money as not only did I have both ears cleaned I also had a hearing test, which I hadn't expected, as well as excellent aftercare advice. This all took an hour & cost £60 . I would definitely recommend Best Hear clinic to others & will return there again in the future if needed.

My mum came to BestHear clinic after 5-6 years of continuous visits to the GP, hospitals, and ENT without ever feeling comfortable or satisfied.At BestHear, my mums hearing was examined thoroughly and diagnosed with what had been causing her issues throughout the years but previous visits to the GP etc never resulted in any substantial improvements.This diagnosis at BestHear resulted in her being provided by a different hearing aid, which improved her hearing substantially. The difference was like night and day, and my mum can hear better now and is much more comfortable and satisfied than she has been the last 5-6 years with her hearing now.This is due to the expertise & knowledge provided at BestHear and how thorough they were in what they do. Their 'Heareka' is literally life changing as I have seen the noticeable difference in how my mum is now able to hear us without us asking to repeat ourselves.Besthear makes things understandable and comforting when explaining what they are doing and why, which is always reassuring.They have recently seen my dad, who they also diagnosed with an issue which he has visited the doctors for as well now.I am grateful & appreciate everything that has been done at BestHear and can't recommend them enough, you won't regret it & it will be life changing for you as well.They are an expert at what they do, have the knowledge to explain it to you & always make the whole process comforting and convenient for you.Thank you.

Much more time is given to assessing the needs of customers which allows them to offer a more specialised service. I cannot recommend the services of BestHear highly enough !My mother was struggling with hearing loss and increasing isolation. The very thorough testing of her hearing revealed significant loss. The hearing aids we chose are wonderfully discreet and my mother finds them very comfortable to wear. The aids have literally transformed her ! She is much more engaged, much happier in herself and can hear a pin drop !!Armaj who carried out the testing is fantastic with Mum and strove to get the aids exactly right, taking considerable time and showing great professionalism. The after care has been excellent.I am very happy we found BestHear to assist my mother. The process has been transformative and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I recently had to see Mr Ali about ear wax removal,I have to say the experience was remarkable at every stage he explained what he was doing and made me feel very comfortable. he did a hearing test after and again explained what stage my hearing was at and showed me all the devices on offer. Mr Ali is a charming person who I will certainly be visiting in the future .

My experience of BestHear and Amarj Ali, was excellent. He was professional, caring and had a very reassuring manner. The earwax removal was excellent and result was amazing. Before the procedure my hearing was literally non existent and after, full hearing was restored.I was offered a free hearing test that identified a perforated drum and some hearing deficit. I left with information for consideration about future options. There was no pressure to proceed at that stage.I would have no reservations in recommending BestHear and Amarj Ali to anyone needing ear wax removal and will return without hesitation. Hearing deficit due to impacted wax had affected many aspects of my everyday living and communication but since removal this has changed for the better.
